Directions

Historic Kohukohu Villa is situated on the harbour in North Hokianga. When travelling to Kohukohu there are three ways you can take to get here.

STATE HWY 1 - MANGAMUKA - NORTH HOKIANGA - KOHUKOHU

Following state highway one North, turn right at Ohaeawai contining on highway 1 to Mangamuka. Turn left at Mangamuka and  left again at the Broadwood | Ferry intersection, then it is approx 16km to Kohukohu.

STATE HWY 1 - KAIKOHE - RAWENE- FERRY - KOHUKOHU

Follow State highway 1 straight through Ohaeawai to Kaikohe, keep straight through towards Opononi, highway 12, to the Rawene turnoff. Turn right to Rawene and catch the Ferry (Kohu Ra Tuarua) from Rawene to the North side. Turn right from the Ferry towards Kohukohu approx 3km away.

The Ferry runs 7 days a week on the half hour (Rawene side) from 7.30am to 7.30pm.

STATE HWY 12 - WAIPOUA  KAURI FOREST - OPONONI - KOHUKOHU

From Whangarei you can travel to Dargaville and then up through the Waipoua Kauri Forest...a beautiful trip...via Opononi. Turn left at the Rawene turnoff and follow the directions as above.
